This is the README for n2m.1.3.s.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]
Purpose and value: This is n2m, a program that translates a file containing a NeXT-format multimedia message into a file containing a MIME-format multimedia message. It uses no external configuration information, and so can be installed by copying the (right!) binary to a given machine. All configuration is done via parameters to make and/or in the Makefile. More information is available in the program logic manual, n2m_plm.tex. Type of systems supported: Berkeley-derived, or ones otherwise using /user/lib/sendmail as a mail transfer agent. In use on SunOS 4.1.1 and Ultrix 4.2, tested briefly on Aix 3.2 and NeXT. Dependencies: External: nil. Known limitations: This program requires the message to have been saved to a file first, which may make it hard to use with a mail user agent that doesn't like to read messages back in again once they've been saved to files. I often use unextended MH, so I just say ``show | n2m | less''. Author: David Collier-Brown, davecb@yorku.ca or dave@lethe.uucp Patchlevel: 3. Copying conditions: None --dave
