me-3.10.N.bs.README May 1996 This archive contains the sources and a prebuild NeXT black hardware binary for the MicroEmacs v3.10 editor. NS Intel/HP/Sun users have to recompile the sources (sorry, we don't have FAT libraries installed), however this is a simple task if you read the supplied INSTALL.NeXT and README.NeXT files. Introduction: If you need a fast and small (90 KB binary) sort of emacs like editor with macro facilities for NeXTstep, you may want to try MicroEmacs v3.10 under NeXTstep. (We use it together with GNU emacs since 1992 under NeXTstep.) However, if you need a full blown Emacs with elisp etc. and you have enough free disk space, we highly recommend Carl Edman's Emacs_for_NeXTstep.4.12. Carl did a superb port for NeXTstep (thanks Carl)! And as always ;-) NO GUARANTEES, WE JUST HACKED IT TO WORK FOR US. -bkr & -vkyr ---- -bkr Bjoern Kriews - bkr@drdhh.hanse.de -vkyr Valentino Kyriakides - 1kyriaki@informatik.uni-hamburg.de
