README

This directory contains one Cmix application and several utilities.
uumix makes 'mix' (don't ask how it got the name uumix!). A general
purpose soundfile mixing and editing program that runs as a CMIX application.

'syn' just reports the syntax of selected commands, and can be added to at
will.

'sndpeak' is an IRCAM program which will find the peak amplitude of each
channel in a soundfile and put that information in the header.

'ffthist' builds 'hist', a general purpose amplitude and frequency plotting
routine.

'rescale' is a general purpose rescaling-to-16-bit-integer program, with lots
of options for splicing etc.

'lsf' is a version of ls that senses soundfiles.

There are manual pages on mix, sndpeak, hist, lsf, and mix.

Sndnorm, sndreverse, and sndscale are IRCAM progs that worked last time
I tried them.

These are the contents of the former NiCE NeXT User Group NeXTSTEP/OpenStep software archive, currently hosted by Netfuture.ch.
