This is the executable of NewFile version 2 for NeXT 2.1 (maybe works under 2.0 and 3.0). The source code is available as a separate tar file (probably from whatever source you got this). NewFile allows you to create new files and directory structures in the current directory of an application. It's intended for those times when you have a directory selected in a Workspace browser and have to create a file in the directory. Rather than change to another application and relocate the directory, you can use a menu item to create the file and have it opened in the appropriate application. To install, simply copy NewFile.app into a directory on your application search path: normally ~/Apps or LocalApps is suitable. The services should appear in any application launched after that, though you may need to execute make_services (in a shell). If you wish to define your own types of files, you'll need your own copy of NewFile.app: see the help panel for details.
