This is the README for RandomWords.NI.b.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]
This BackSpace module is similar to Darcy Brockbank's Words module. In fact, until I prepared this for net distribution, this module was also named Words. For the record, I created this module on my own before Darcy's ever hit the 'net. I just took a little longer to put it onto the net. The basic functionality between the two is the same ± randomly selected words are placed at random locations on the screen. Below is a table which describes the differences between the modules. Darcy's Doug's font random fixed size random fixed color random one or random color style shadowed flat word list fixed set via panel time settable settable While the random font feature is nice, it doesn't distiguish between readable and non-readable fonts (e.g. Symbol or Animal). I'm not sure if this can be done. I think I looked into this at one point but didn't come up with anything. The makefile provided compiles the module for old NeXT machines and intel boxes. If you want something different, change the ARCH variable. If you want to install this in a nice network place (e.g. /LocalLibrary/BackSpaceViews), change the first line of the makefile. As with most of this stuff, there is no warranty. Feel free to make changes, but please don't charge money for this and do include my name in the credits. enjoy. Doug Harris dough@bou.shl.com
