PharrSavers

(pharr@cs.yale.edu Ð NeXTMail makes me happy)

PharrSavers is a collection of screen savers that I've written for Sam Streeper's screen-saver BackSpace. They basically fill in some of the areas that needed to be filled in with BackSpace Ð bouncing clocks, and all the other basics of the screen-saver world. All four of them take advantage of the whole interface BackSpace offers to the programmer, so maybe they'll be useful to others who have neat ideas for 'savers.

To install them, copy the *.BackModule directories into a directory called BackSpaceViews in either your own Library directory, or into LocalLibrary. Alternatively, they can just be dropped into the BackSpace.app wrapper. The source code for all of them is included in the *.src directories, so you could also type make install in each of them to do the installation.

DigitalClockView bounces your basic digital clock around the screen. You can adjust not only the clock's size and speed, but also whether it uses standard AM/PM or military time.
PatchworkView was the first BackSpace screen-saver that I wrote. It grew out of a little Postscript hack I was playing with.
SnakesView shares the straightforwardness of PatchworkView. It's sort of hard to describe, but it's similar to one of the neater AfterDark modules.
SpheresView is my favorite of the bunch. It draws and shades a bunch of shaded spheres, with a nice 3-D effect and reasonably quick drawing due to the hack-y way the spheres are drawn.

**	Note that none of these modules are compatible with the first
release of BackSpace, due to support for BackSpace's new
capabilities. You must use the version of BackSpace that came
	with NeXTStep 3.0 with these screen-savers. **

I hope you enjoy all of these, and drop me a line if you like them, have suggestions for changes, or whatever...

Makefiles have been changed for fat compilation under 3.1 and higher. A full set of
precompiled fat modules are also included.
