NDbootscreen A command for dual-headed NeXTdimension systems which makes it possible to put the 'console' or boot animation on the monochrome head, and the login panel, WorkSpace, and so on on the color head. These settings are normally controlled by the Multiple Screen Layout Preferences, which always points both to the same screen/head. NDbootscreen has to be run as root. When used without arguments, it reports the slot that is currently used as the console device (slot 0 being the CPU board's framebuffer). It takes a slot number as an argument, which sets the display to be used for the boot animation, console messages, and NMI panel (e.g., it sets what the kernel thinks is the console device). On my system, the NeXTdimension board is at/in slot 2. Examples: # NDbootscreen Console slot: 0 # NDbootscreen 2 # Note to ftp site administrator(s): NDbootscreen should probably be located in /software/NeXT/binaries/screen
