README - PrintFonts
-----------------------

This stuff will let you include all the fonts in a print job when printing to a Non-NeXT printer. If you open the listfonts.perl file, you can specify which fonts NOT to include in the print job. By default it will not include any of the Adobe Base35 fonts because most PS printers have them in memory. You can tailor this to meet your needs.

WARNING: This has only been tested with a NeXTstation printing to an Apple LaserWriter IIg through a Sun server. I make no claims as to whether or not it will work with other printer configurations.

How to install:
	1. As root, rename /usr/lib/NextPrinter/npd-lpr to npd-lpr.original.
If you rename it to something other than that, you'll have to
change the NPD_LPR_NAME variable in the new npd-lpr file.
	2.	Put the new npd-lpr file (this file) in /usr/lib/NextPrinter.
	3. Put the listfonts.perl file in /usr/local/bin. If you put it
somewhere else, you have to change the LISTFONTS variable in the
		new npd-lpr file.
	4.	Put the perl executable in /usr/local/bin (or somewhere in you
		path).

That's it. Now you should be able to print and get the included fonts in your printout without having to download them automatically.

If this doesn't work, contact me and I'll try to help. I can be reached at marcos@kaleida.com.

Good Luck!

Paul
