This is the README for Deskjet500.N.bs.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]
'djf' is a filter-program which allows you to use a Deskjet printer with a NeXT. All Postscript is rendered by the Display-Postscript and the resulting bitmap is sent to the printer. This djf differs from the recent Deskjet-drivers as: - there is full DIN A4 support - Compression mode 3 is used (only usable on Deskjet 500) - different halftone-directories according to different resolutions (75,100,150,300 DPI). It should be useful for all printers which support Compression modes 0-3 (only Deskjet 500 was tested), i.e.: LaserJet III, IIIP Deskjet 500 (Deskjet 500 C?) PaintJet XL (black&white mode) Refer to the File README.rtf for installation procedures.
