This is the README for mCD.971026.s.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]
mCD is written by Garance Alistair Drosehn, email: gad@eclipse.its.rpi.edu this version: Oct 29, 1997 mCD.app is a program for listening to music CD's under NeXTSTEP. You will need to be root to setup the program properly, as the executable (mCD.app/mCD) has to be setuid root. If you do not do that, then the program will tell you how to do that when you try to run it. This is the version of mCD as of Oct 26th, 1997 (which I also call "version 0.22", for what that's worth). Two files are uploaded to the peak.org ftp site in addition to this README file: mCD.971026.NIHS.b.tar.gz mCD.971026.s.tar.gz MD5 digests for them are: 3035d56ad7353e14d3428bcbed7509f5 mCD.971026.NIHS.b.tar.gz 19c662867caf2dff3aa1ff81d93090da mCD.971026.s.tar.gz NeXTSTEP 3.2 'sum' outputs for them are: 23567 790 mCD.971026.NIHS.b.tar.gz 53322 329 mCD.971026.s.tar.gz The binary (executable) versions of these were compiled on a NeXTSTEP 3.3patch1 system, and should run on any version of NeXTSTEP from release 3.2 to release 4.2 (although I have no way of testing NeXTSTEP 4.2...). The "home ftp site" for mCD is in the directory at: ftp://eclipse.its.rpi.edu/NeXT/apps/mCD_f/ That directory includes single-architecture binaries, in addition to the quad-fat one I tend to upload to FTP sites.
