Digit The NEXTSTEP Scientific Calculator Mark G. Tacchi tacchi@next.com About Digit Digit is a freeware scientific calculator application that operates very similar to commercial pocket calculators. It has been compiled as a Multi Architecture Binary (MAB) for three architectures under NEXTSTEP Release 3.2. How to Get ftp cs.orst.edu via anonymous login in /pub/next/binaries/util. Be sure to use `binary' transfer mode. Or use archie to check for other sites that carry Digit.app. Unpacking and Installing Digit.app Version 3.xx has been gnutar'ed and gzip'ed. The following commands will extract Digit.app and place it in /LocalApps. You'll want to be root to do this. # gunzip Digit_v3.05.tar.gz # gnutar xf Digit_v3.05.tar # cd Digit_v3.05 # mv Digit.app /LocalApps If you don't plan on running all currently available architectures, remove those that are not needed. # cd /LocalApps/Digit.app Select one or more of the following. # lipo Digit -remove m68k -o Digit # lipo Digit -remove i386 -o Digit # lipo Digit -remove hppa -o Digit Registration Be sure to register your version to keep up to date on future upgrades and new applications from the author.
