This is the README for tekton4tex.d.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]
This directory contains files that enable the use of Adobe's Tekton font in TeX and LaTeX on the NeXT computer and other machines using Tom Rokicki's dvips. The files are useless unless you have a legitimate copy of the Tekton font. The makefile builds tfm and vf files from Adobe's afm files. It has an install option. Be sure the paths are right for your setup, and that you won't write over any information you need to keep, before you run it. This install will write over your psfonts.map and psfonts.sty files, so BEWARE! I have followed the standard font-naming conventions. Any LaTeX style files in this directory assume you are using the New Font Selection Scheme. This is *not* distributed with the NeXT; you will have to pick it up from an archive (see below). If you get this, you will also want psfonts.tar.Z. I have included some example files: tekton-sample-plain.tex tekton-sample-latex.tex semteksampl.tex (requires seminar.tar.Z) The file tekton-font-height.tex calculates the x-height of Tekton. This information was used to construct psfonts.sty and semtek.sty. See npsfont.sty for the reason why x-height font scaling is useful. NeXT TeX versions I used: dvips 5.485 texview a9 Other packages I have used, all available by anonymous ftp: latex nfss 92.03.25 by Mittelbach and Schoepf, rusmv1.rus.uni-stuttgart.de psfonts.tar.Z by dmjones@theory.lcs.mit.edu seminar.tar.Z by tvz@princeton.edu Erik Sowa, 92.09.09 sowa@amdew.llnl.gov sowa@netcom.com
