how to drag a citation into Edit.app ?
Edit.app allows no dragging when in ASCII-mode. Use Cmd-Shift-C instead (Edit->Copy Citation 'C'). This copies the selected entries to the pasteboard. Then paste it into a textfile.

how to save a bib file ?
you can save a file a) chronologically or b) alphabetically. In this case the rules for crossrefencing are obeyed.

how to open a bib file ?
.bib files can be opened by using the OpenPanel (Document/Open...) or  by double-clicking a bib file or  by command-dragging a bib file icon over the program icon or  by double-clicking a bib file on the shelf of the application

how to show  a bib entry ?
select a bib file in the browser (left column) then an entry, identified by its reference key, in the right column. An inspector panel shows the entrytype and all fields of the entry.

how to change  an entry ?
make all changes in the inspector panel and finally replace (overwrite) the old entry or save it as a new entry (must have a new reference key)

how to make  a new entry ?
take an existing entry, modify the content and add it to the selected file or press the new-button in the main bibliography window, then choose an entrytype and type the text

how to find  a special entry ?
open the find panel and write (or paste) the search string into the textfield. You will get all entries with this text in all the selected files. 

how to copy  entries into another file ?
select the entries in the browser of the main bibliography window (or the find panel) and drag the associated icon over the icon of the target file.

how to make  a viewtemplate of an entry ?
goto the preference panel. You can hide/show a field for a special entrytype or for all entrytypes. You can have a oneliner for a field (SMALL) or a textfield (LARGE). Changes are immediately valid.

What does   º   mean in the inspector ?
It indicates that there are more lines than shown. The text is scrollable.

What does a bullet (·) mean in the inspector ?
This field is reqired.

What does a bold & italic  fieldname mean in the inspector ?
You can toggle this name (click on the name):
@Book	Author<Ð> Editor, Volume <Ð> Number (etc)
