This is the README for Pfind.1.0.N.bs.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]

Pfind is a program for finding paragraphs in one or more ASCII files, where each paragraph is separated by a blank line. To use the program simply click on Pfind in the browser, or type "Pfind" to a shell. More detailed information on how to run it can be found by clicking the Help menu item. Before using the program make sure that the unix programs "indxbib" and "lookbib" are both executable by all users. These programs are in /usr/bin, and their protection can be changed by becoming superuser and running chmod (indxbib is not executable in the 1.0 release).

To obtain the Pfind icon copy Pfind to ~/Apps and execute "Find Applications" from the broswer. Source code is also included and can be compiled using the standard included makefile. A sample set of paragraphs is included as Sample.txt. When these have been made into a database (via Create Db), try searching for "File", and "File system".

Bug reports or improvements to the code to brinkley@synapse.biostr.washington.edu (but I probably won't do anything about them).
