The first, IEEE488Driver0.9.src.tar.gz, contains the sources for the driver and associated support routines. Get this if you want to see how a DriverKit device driver using interrupts and host-master DMA works. A binary version of the driver is available in the Installer.app packege IEEE488Driver0.9.pkg. To install the driver from the IEEE488Driver0.9.pkg package: 1 - Log in as root. 2 - Double click on the IEEE488Driver0.9.pkg file. - Click on the `Install' button. 3 - Run Configure.app: - click on the `Other' button at the top of the window. - click on the `Add...' button. This will bring up the `Add Other Devices' panel - click on the `National Instruments GPIB-PCII/IIA' line. - click on the `Add' button. - set the IRQ/DMA/Port information to match the way the card is configured. - set the controller GPIB address and timeout appropriately.
