NXplotNd - release 1.0 ---------------------- This is the first 'release' version of NXplotNd. I have decided to make shareware contributions for the program voluntary. That is, the program is not disabled in any respect if you don't pay. This is also the first version with no expiration date (although you might want to check for updates occasionally). If you use the program regularly, please consider making the nominal contribution I request in the introduction in the on-line help. --------------- NXplotNd is a 2 thru n dimensional plotting program. It does many plots not supported by any other NeXTStep software (that I'm aware of). Other than simple 2d line/symbol plots it will do 3d surface plots, volume vis. contours (isosurfaces), and MANY others. The paradigm used by the program is very flexible, but gives the program a pretty steep initial learning curve. It comes with a set of demos which double as tutorials. I would strongly suggest looking over the demos or looking over the online help. Otherwise you may have a frustrating initial experience. IMPORTANT --------- I have compiled for a couple of different arch. combinations. These packages are NOT installer packages. To unpack them, change to your home directory and type: 'gnutar -xvzf <archive pathname>' This will put NXplotNd.app in your home Apps directory and will put the plot modules in your home Library directory in a NXplotNd subdirectory. I will make an installer package sometime in the future. If you wish to install the package for general use on your machine/cluster, the application can be put in /LocalApps and the NXplotNd subdirectory in ~/Library can be moved to /LocalLibrary. NXplotNd1.0.I.b.tgz Binaries compiled Intel only. NXplotNd1.0.N.b.tgz Binaries compiled NeXT only. (may work with 3.0) NXplotNd1.0.NIHS.b.tgz Binaries compiled quad-fat. NXplotNd.1b4.demos.tgz Demo files. Work best on color machines. Look for an update soon. NXplotNd.demos.bw.tar.gz Some older demos which were 'fixed' for use on non-color machines. NXplotNd.API.1b1.tgz Docs and examples for the Obj-C API. Let me know if you use this. It takes a lot of effort to support, so I won't continue if nobody's using it.
