Welcome to Chaos-World

Operation of the program is fairly straightforward and self-explanatory, but I should make one comment:

Sound production is either by the DSP Pluck instrument or via MIDI. Tuning may be constrained to the twelve-tone equal-tempered system, or unconstrained across the full frequency spectrum. Because infinite resolution tuning requires the use of pitch-bend messages in MIDI, note output in MIDI mode cycles among channels 1 thru 4. This allows overlapping durations and a generally cleaner response.

This software was written by Rick Bidlack at the Computer Music Studios at SUNY Buffalo. You are welcome to mangle it to your heart's content. It is highly unlikely that I will ever have anything more to do with it, but I would be interested in seeing whatever improvements/additions others make to the code (there is plenty of room for this!).

Happy Computing
