JView Version 1.0 by Gary Ritchie, NightShade Software JView allows you to view JPEG files on the NeXT Computer. To use JView, you need to install it in either LocalApps, or in your home Apps directory. You must also have a program that can view GIF files installed in one of those directories. One such freely available program is ViewGif2. Using JView is very simple, just double-click on a .jpg file in the Workspace Manager or in a program such as NewsGrazer. JView will launch and display a panel informing you that it is working. You may click the Stop button to abort the conversion. Note that converting from JPEG to GIF can take a long time. When you quit, all the GIF files it created will be erased. If you wish to keep the GIF file(s), make copies before exiting JView. The GIF files are created in the same directory as the original JPEG files. You may freely copy and distribute JView, so long as you don't charge anything for it. This software is based in part on the work of the Independent JPEG Group. - Gary -
