This is the README for VideoStream.1.0.NIHS.bs.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]
VideoStream is a bare-bones AVI and MPEG-1 animation (no audio) viewer. It's free, subject to the copyright restrictions in the X animation viewer xanim out of which I hacked the aviDecode code, and the University of California code from which I hacked the MPEG decoder. If you make any improvements, especially in speed and/or image quality, please share the code and drop me a note at warozzi@mmm.com. Using VideoStream: Open an AVI or MPEG document using the menu item. The filename must end in ".avi" or ".mpg" for the file to be recognized. A window will appear and the animation will start after a few seconds. Press Command-Period to pause playback. Hit the Play Again menu item to restart at frame 1. And now a message from my lawyers: THE SOFTWARE CONTAINED HEREIN IS FURNISHED AS IS, IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE, AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY BLACK ADDER RESEARCH INCORPORATED.
