This is the README for NeXTGo.2.7.NIHS.bs.gnutar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]

This is a new version (2.6) of the NeXTGo program written by Man L. Li, Wayne Iba, Bob Webber and John Neil (see the original READMEs for details). Further there is some gnu-code inside so the GPL applies.

NeXTGo is a free graphical client for the internet go servers. It's for people (like me) who like to play go on the internet (a rare but growing spezies) and wants to use NeXTStep for this purpose (a very rare species I presume).

I've used the previous version 2.5.3 for some time and then added some features I'd like to have. The programm now supports multiple go-servers, has an improved GUI (time is now running down, one now needs only two windows to play on the net, commands moved to the menu,...), preferences are now saved to the default database, it asks you if you want to save the game after finishing one on the server and so on.

The package has been compiled quad-fat (special thanks to Andreas Moster, amoster@cube.de) and contains the source too.
