This is the README for PPPMonitor.1.16.NIHS.bs.tar.gz [Download] [Browse] [Up]

PPPMonitor.app
(v1.16)

Features:
PPPMonitor provides a simple interface for managing your ppp connection (eg. using ppp-2.2). The following features are available:
	- Simple Connect/Disconnect.
	- Auto-reconnect option (if connection fails).
	- Will load PPP LKS (loadable kernel server) if necessary (special configuration).
	- Periodic execution of a specified command.
	- A miniature shelf to hold your network application.
	- Scroll view to monitor the contents of the ppp log file.
	- Displayed 'connect-time'.
All available on a single panel.

Bugs fixed:
v1.15
- Fixes a problem that could cause v1.14 to 'hang' in some situation when clicking '(stop)' before the 'Connect' has had a chance to complete.

v1.16
- Fixes a potential problem that could cause the connection time clock to stop counting time (this did not effect the actual connection).
- Added connect-time display to App-Icon.
- An _IMPORTANT_ change has been made to README.rtf regarding the Ping command option. The documentation gave the example command "/etc/ping remote.host.com 5" which was missing an important argument. The example _should_ have specified "/etc/ping remote.host.com 64 5" which properly indicates that the command is to send only 5 ping requests (the '64' is the packet size).

Configuration:
See the file 'README.rtf' for more information on configuring PPPMonitor to run on your system.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the configuration or execution of this application.
