* Introduction
  
  HNNews is powerful multi-tasking USENET newsreader.
  HNNews gives you ability of navigating news servers very easily.
  HNNews is commercial product.


* License

  You can use all features of HNNews for 15 minutes. If you want to
  use without time limit, you should buy this product. If you buy
  HNNews 0.95, you don't need to pay the upgrade fee until HNNews 1.0.
  License fee is US $40 for single user license. For detail, see

* System Requirements

  - HNNews works on NEXTSTEP 3.3 or OPENSTEP 4.0 or 4.1.
  - HNNews works on Intel, Motorola, Sparc, HPPA.


* HNNews's main feature

  - Multi Tasking : You can see already downloaded articles while
    downloading new article headers, or new article bodies. And you
    can download articles from many news servers at the same time.
    
  - Graphical environment : You can see threaded article's follow-ups
    graphically. And you can set article for retrieval, lock,
    watch-thread, ignore-thread with clicking its icon or menu, and
    HNNews shows articles status by color and icon. You can do many
    things by tool-bar icons which show you BUBBLE help. And HNNews
    has Gradient background, and gradient titlebar. And HNNews can
    show progress graphically.

  - Saving downloaded articles to database : Every time you navigate
    usenet, HNNews will save downloaded articles, so next time you start
    HNNews, you don't need to reload already downloaded article
    headers or bodies. If you navigate news server by modem, HNNews
    saves a lot of money for you!

  - Easy to use and fast to go : HNNews's menu was sorted well, so
    even beginner can use very easily. And if you set simple header
    mode, HNNews retrieve only necessary infomation from server by 
    testing simple header mode automatically. (Eg: XOVER, XHDR, HEAD)
    You don't need to know what kind of server daemon your news server
    has. (Eg: innd, nntpd, etc) And you can navigate HNNews by
    key-binding.

  - Powerful feature for expert of USENET : Thread-watch,
    thread-ignore, purging and lots of preferences that you can set,
    multi windows for each server will make you more powerful
    USENETizen.

  - Online, Offline newsreader : You can see already downloaded
    articles at offline. You can switch online, offline by clicking 
    button, it's very easy!

  - Multi-langauge support : Each newsgroup can have its own
    langugae, which may have its own fontset and decoding, encoding
    method. For example, you can see English newsgroups with English
    fonts, and Japanese newsgroups with Japanese fonts. HNNews will
    help you to see all the newsgroups with different codesets.

  - MIME and UUDecode binary articles : HNNews can decode MIME encoded
    article, and show MIME binary in internal Article Text.
    And you can extract binary files by unpacking or uudecoding binary
    files with external "munpack" program. After extracting binary
    files, HNNews will launch proper viewer of that file types
    directly. And HNNews can decode multi-parted binary articles.

  - Internal mail : HNNews can email, reply, forward internally by
    using built-in NeXTSTEP program.


* Changes from 0.95

  - Support for mail TIFF Database in /LocalLibrary/Images/People.

  - Support for X-Image-URL header. http and ftp urls are fully
    supported.

  - The pop-up list entitled with All, Unread, Read was added to
    Article List View.

  - HNNews now saves all pop-up lists' position in Main Window.

  - Previous version showed old article's body after purging when
    retrieving Article Headers. This bug was fixed.

  - Previous version showed always Gerneral Preferences when launching
    Preferences panel. Now HNNews shows last-selected preferences.

  - Previous version crashed sometimes after retrieving Article
    Headers. This bug was fixed.

  - Previous version crashed sometimes when aborting online task like
    retrieving Article Headers. This bug was fixed.

  - Previous version crashed sometimes when showing Korean or Japanese
    characters. This bug was fixed.

  Just copy HNNews.app to ~/Apps or /LocalApps.
