Flatfile support is neither included nor planned. Alexandra makes use of a NOV database and the relevant command extensions to NNTP. If you plan to compile Alexandra yourself make sure that you have installed MiscKit version 1.6.1 or higher. Alexandra should compile with any NEXTSTEP Developer release 3.x; it is known to compile with release 3.3.
