IMPORTANT NOTES

You need an NNTP server to use Alexandra. Flatfile support is neither included nor planned. Alexandra makes use of a NOV database and the relevant command extensions to NNTP. If access seems slow ask your news administrator to install a NOV database and/or read the section titled `Performance Tuning' in the online-help.

If you plan to compile Alexandra yourself make sure that you have installed MiscKit version 1.6.1 or higher. Alexandra should compile with any NEXTSTEP Developer release 3.x; it is known to compile with release 3.3.
