Introduction:

The Colorizer Bundle gives NeXTmail and MailViewer/NT the ability
to display message summaries with background colors which you
define. Version 1.5 works with NeXTmail on both NEXTSTEP 3.3 and
4.0, and it is compiled Quad-Fat.

Basic Features:

· Colors Message Summary backgrounds based on search criteria and priorities you define.

· Searches are based on any message header field -"From:", "To:", "Cc:", "X-custom-header:", "References:", etc.

· You define the colors.

· Colors can show themselves in several ways: background, left and right arrows.

· Arrows and Backgrounds can overlay each other, indicating multiple search hits.

· This system is totally passive. It does not update your mail
message or the table of contents file. No special mail fetcher is
required. Rather, it determines colors and priorities dynamically
and "on the fly" as message summaries are displayed. Changes to
your Colorizer configuration take affect on all messages (not just
newly fetched messages) in all mailboxes immediately.

Other Features:

· Many Focus options: "Focus On Color", "Focus On Thread", "Focus
On All Colors", etc.

· Quick Focus Panel lets you define any search and focus on the results.

· Searches are base on either "Word" and "Regular Expressions" -
your choice.

· Colorize Threads: Colorizer can dynamically colorize the backgrounds of all messages belonging to the thread of the currently selected message.

How to Install and Use:

1. Download the appropriate bundle:

2. Decompress the Colorizer package so that it is just Colorizer.bundle
(for NeXTmail) or Colorizer.mailbundle (for MailViewer).

3. If you don't already have one, create a folder in your Library
folder called Mail: "~/Library/Mail". Or alternatively create a
system wide folder: on NT it might be $(NEXT_ROOT)\LocalLibrary\Mail.

4. Drag the Colorizer bundle to your "Library/Mail" folder.

5. If you are using another Priority bundle, especially one that
colors the backgrounds of messages, you'd best remove it. They will
probably conflict.

6. Quit and re-launch Mail.

7. Go to Mail's menu and select "Mailbox->Colorizer->Settings..."
to open the Colorizer Settings Panel. You may also want to select
"Mailbox->Colorizer->Help..." to learn how to use Colorizer.

8. Read the instructions provided and then customize to suit your needs.

9. When you click "Save", your changes will take effect immediately.
