I was wondering if there could be a way to configure a remote non-Postscript line printer (a LP25 connected to a VAX6310) so that text from applications like Edit could be printed. The reason for this is that we have a student laboratry full of NeXTs and we spend lots of money in toner for the printers ( they usually print some large quantities of program listings that are text-only). I have already configured it as a remote printer, but when the document is printed all i get is some rather cryptic postscript code (from Edit) that the usual student won't understand. I also used lpr and it worked fine, but i'm afraid the students will most probably choose to ignore this unix-user-unfriendly interface in favor of the point-and-click-print-menu on most of the aplications. how can this be accomplished? Please respond via e-mail (i rarely have time to read news). I'l post a summary later. Thanks in advance, Bernardo Cantu Garza. ITESM bcantu@roxette.mty.itesm.mx
