After doing this several times a few nights ago, I would recommend halt over reboot. It seems that halt is usually able to sync the disk, which saves as much info as possible before re-boot. Halt also does a better job of setting the filesystem to a clean state if it really is clean. This is especially handy when trying to make changes to a corrupt NetInfo database. Reboot sometimes just continues to hang, depending on the status of your processes. Halt seems to wait for no one, and will always get you to the ROM monitor without having to cycle power (yet another option) John
