Labs. If so what are you using it/them for? How do you like them? Do you think that it is better than using Macintoshes? Are there any Bio programs out there for the NeXT? & finally, If you can think of any questions that I have not asked, Please feel free to ask & then answer them for me. **************************************************************************** oriented biology applications. If you are interested in educational stuff check out the 13 applications in /pub/Biology at our anonymous ftp machine pellns.alleg.edu (141.195.5.200). Several of these are genetics and cell bio pre-labs. Each week our students are required to run the appropriate pre-lab before doing the wet-lab. Several of these programs were intended to be run only on color stations, so be warned that the images may not look quite as nice on monochrome machines. To answer some of your other questions, let me just say that this was our first shot at developing biology apps in-house. I wrote the programs one per week - staying just ahead of the classes using the labs. I think 12 programs in 12 weeks isn't too shabby since I'm not much of a programmer and definitely not a biologist by training. The NeXT has provided us with the tools we wanted for developing custom applications quickly. If you can do the same on the Mac, then that's great, but the NeXT has definitely worked for us. Hope this helps, chuck cfleming@alleg.edu
