Conflicts between voice/FAX/data incoming connections: Solution: Take a second telephone line. For FAX and Voice are switches, they route depending on the CNG tone. But data is not recognized, since a modem calling in will expect the answering connection to start buzzing. No way out here. (I wonder what these I-link people have thought up for this one, but, they aren't delivering yet, so they probably are still thinking). 2. What FAXmodem to use: There is only 1 FAXmodem that also does 9600 bps data. It got bad press from most people reacting (not that many). It seems that the FAX standard that is endorsed by either modem or computer isn't really set yet, so buying now means depending on either special drivers or waiting until it is and fixes arrive. Wait. If I have left essentials out (like your product that addresses all my problems), e-mail me.

For Hayes type, append "R" after the number, when calling. This makes the caller "answer", which sends the tome first. The FAX/voice switches (at least some of them) recognize this, and switch to the data modem. al.
