I think that it actually changes the value, but it tells you what the old value was. Here's the output from a watchpoint. Watchpoint 2, k Old value = 0 New value = 9 For the most part, I think GDB 4.0 is as good as CodeView (I hear Borland's debugger is better), except that it's missing the slick front-end. -Mike
