This is SoundMeter in view mode; [Up]

Date: Sun 23-Oct-1991 15:39:11 From: adrian@niagara.ucs.ualberta.ca (Adrian Smith) Subject: SoundMeter I'm a novice NeXTStep programmer, and I'm probably doing somethign wrong, but I can't get the SoundMeter object to behave as it should. I've tried using it as a delegate from Sound, and messaging it from a Controller object, but I get strange things happening. When I message it, such as: id meter; [meter setSound:aSound]; [meter run:sender]; I get the amplitude meter inside my CustomView, but I also get a duplicate of the amplitude bar over my control buttons. This just makes a dark bar, the size of the meter, covering the buttons. The buttons are still active, but are being written over by the meter. This works whether I'm recording or playing back sound. I've got it narrowed down to the [meter run:sender] message, but now I'm stuck. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, -Adrian adrian@niagara.ucs.ualberta.ca (NeXTMail preferred) usercona@mts.ucs.ualberta.ca
