This is emacs in view mode; [Up]

Date: Sun 21-Nov-1991 15:46:44 From: alex@laos (Alex D. Nghiem) Subject: emacs When I enter the shell mode in emacs (with ESC-x shell), the terminal keeps replying with: Warning: incomplete termcap entry. Editing disabled. For some reason, it defaults to C shell even though my default shell is ksh. I can run ksh but everytime I use set -o emacs, it doesn't seem to do much. I would like to edit the command line with Control-P and Control-N just as though I were in the shell, that is, bring back the previous command and the next command. Instead, Control-P and Control-N keeps moving the cursor up and down the screen. Thus, my questions are: 1. How do I get emacs to run ksh rather than csh? 2. How I use the command line editing facilities of ksh rather than emacs? Please e-mail directly and thanks in advance. Alex
