Date: Sun 26-Nov-1991 08:27:04 From: emt@leland.Stanford.EDU (Eric Michael Taleff) Subject: Question: gnuplot3.0 modification for points in PS I am in need of modifying gnuplot3.0 so that it generates more and different kinds of points symbols in postscript mode. I have been using gnuplot3.0 on my NeXTstation running under OS2.1 to generate postscript files. What I need to do is hack the gnuplot source so that I can get the following things for points: 1) more point types, for example: a. circles (filled and unfilled, ie. blackened and white centered) b. rightside-up and upside-down triangles (filled and unfilled) c. filled and unfilled squares d. filled and unfilled diamonds e. any other shapes that you might find in a box of Lucky Charms cereal. 2) I would also like to have a choice of having the symbols up to two times larger than the normal size displayed. 3) One final nice thing would be if it were possible to make the center of the open symbols "white" such that other symbols underneath would not show through. (This bleed- through is another no-no for publication) Now the questions: a) How do I modify the post.trm file to accomplish this. b) Do I need to modify any other files, such as term.c, etc... I am not knowledgeable about Postscript and have only limited C programming experience, mostly number-crunching, engineering type stuff. I have attempted to add more point types to the term.c and termhold.c files, but it is evident that I also need to modify the post.trm file, which has me a bit stumped. Please reply to: emt@leland.stanford.edu Thanks in advance!
