Are there any ones that are known not to work with the NeXTstation? I am interesting in either 2400 or 9600 bps. My primary use would be to dial up to the computers in school and at work. I read the NeXT networking guide and the relevant man pages, and I think I want a Hayes compatible modem. What I am interested to know is which modems are fully compatible with Hayes "down to the register level"? Thanks. Tom

Fully means a complete integration in a network of NeXTs running netinfo, NFS, etc. Or is it only possible to use the magnificent NeXT as a dumb terminal emulation? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am fairly new to the NeXT world (still in the old world...:-)

You can do this by running either SLIP or PPP. M Carling The Hoover Institution, Stanford University Director, Bay Area NeXT Group mcarling@leland.stanford.edu (NeXTmail preferred)
