I'm planning to buy a NeXT soon but I wantto buy the memory and disk drive seperately. What does the current folklore advise for a 660 -> 330 meg disk drive that is compatible with NeXT and is also available cheap from a mail-order house for example? Also, should I purchase a 256 single-side magneto optical as part of the package or would I get a better deal with one of the 2-sided Cannon things? Are they compatible? This is one spect of the NeXT I know little about. It seems to me that MO's from NeXT are over-priced though. Response by mail would be appreciated. Enjoy! - jtn

Since I had nothing to lose I did call them and talked to Mike Woodruff as suggested. Mike proved to be a very professional sales person. He called me back after confirming the item was on stock (30 minutes later) and when the drive was shipped, saying when I shlould expect it. There were two follow up calls after I received the drive to make sure I was satisfied. I was.... Their price for the 660 Mb Fujitsu model M2263SA was $1185. Not bad. Apparently the price is "negociable". Just mention that you read it here in the Net and quote this price. (their inventory quotes it at $1350). The drive worked without a hitch in my slab. Of course, external cases and cables are extra, but I didn't need them. If you call him, mention that this post. He might enjoy it... J.E.Thomaz talk to Mike Woodruff ps2: I have NO relations with the above company. Just a satisfied costumer.
