It was not too difficult to install, although I had to fix a few bugs and call on David Korn to help me with a problem with a missing process group number. (I can supply notes on what I had to do for those who are interested.) The sources to ksh, currently called ksh-i-88f, may be purchased from the AT&T Software Toolchest. When I purchased them they cost $3,000 plus a $48.30 UUCP e-mail transmission fee for a campuswide license. For more information on how to establish an account for ordering from the Software Toolchest, call AT&T at 1-800-828-UNIX. You may also contact the Software Toolchest distribution system via modem at (201) 522-6900. The login name is ``guest'' -- no password. If you are interested in ksh and are at an educational institution, you should check with your computer center, especially if they maintain UNIX mainframe machines. Chances are that you already have a site license from AT&T for the code. UIUC does, although I'm not sure how it's handled between departments.
