Borrelli) Subject: Awsome Backspace idea (I think so, at least) I was just playing around with the fileviewer and Backspace, and I figured out a way to get the tiff of Steven Jobs to bounce around the screen. It'll only work if you haven't deleted your mbox files. The Steven Jobs .tiff file is located in your /(you)/Mailboxes/Active.mbox/Welcome.attach directory (We're getting that image from the letter you got when you first logged in to your NeXT ) Just move or copy the tiff file to your BackSpace.app and select it as the image. The slidingimage or fadingimage modules will either fade or bounce stevie all over the screen. Now if someone could do an SJ.anim file..... Steve borres@rpi.edu P.S. Ivosaver is cool, but I get streaking on my screen. I converted the tiffs to 2-bit (as per the instructions). Is this normal behavior?

The contents of /usr/template are used to set up new users, etc. Its comforting to know that Steve's picture and voice are always around. I guess on the night that he was supposed to come to the BANG meeting I can stare at his picture and play his voice over and over again.

You have to make a link in your BackSpace.app like this: cd (whatever dir your BackSpace is in) ln -s BackSpace.app/Ivo.anim/Ivo.1.tiff BackSpace.app/Ivo.1.tiff Then run BackSpace and tell it that the default image is Ivo.1.tiff. Try to get a look at it in colour though... - darcy

I hope that is not what was meant. Anyone know if there will be a fixed version of BackSpace soon?
