It is not of the high frequency variety. The whine is well within human audibility range. I have just fired off a note to NeXT about it. The NeXTstation Colour is only six months old and the harddrive came with the computer. In the mean time, I would like to find out if anyone else has experienced similar whines with their 200MB NeXT-supplied hard drive, and what did NeXT do about it. I will post a summary of all responses. Joe
