I just finished poking through "The UNIX System Administration Handbook" and picked up a lot of really useful information, but there still a number of UNIX command line hell-spots that I really need better explained. (What diabolical, hell-spawned, scum-sucking pig came up with "chmod" for instance?) I'd like to hear people's suggestions for a basic UNIX book that covers the BSD commands in plain English. There are a plethora of them out there, and a lot of them are going to be useless to me. If you have a favorite, please mail me and with the title, author and publisher. I'll summarize and post the results for anyone who's interested. Please reply by mail, it would be a waste to clog up c.s.n.m with debated over whose choice is better. Please reply to: asmith@panik.wimsey.bc.ca cheers adam
