This is Interrupting-rc.local in view mode; [Up]
Date: Sun 09-May-1991 14:10:33 From: mconlon@holly.stat.ufl.edu (Mike Conlon) Subject: Interrupting rc.local I recently purchased an 030 cube and update parts. The update parts haven't arrived yet, and the cube (which used to be on a network) will be used stand-alone for now. The rc.local starts network services such as YP. When powered up it hangs "Checking for network". I can get to the monitor with Command `, and I can continue the boot to see the rc.local being executed. What I need to be able to do is to interrupt the rc.local so I can comment out the lines that start network daemons. I am experienced with UNIX, but not with NeXT. I tried Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Z, Ctrl-D, but I haven't been able to get to a shell prompt yet. Could someone tell me how to interrupt rc.local?
