Subject: scavanging components of the extended release

I would like to copy over the C++ compiler, Emacs editor and TeX from the
extended release to a 105 slab, and would appreciate any advice concerning
which files need to be copied for each of these components.

I would also be interested in suggestions about which of the space-consuming
bells and whistles in the basic release can be safely compressed or deleted.
