Sounds like a new revision of the mono-NeXTstation motherboard is now in production. louie

Briefly, you can configure the NeXTstation so that after power down/power failure, the machine will turn itself back on "immediately" or at some designated time in the future. This seems sort of nice until you realize that if you turn the thing off using the "Power" key or "halt -p", it turns itself right back on! Personally, I like to be able to remotely power off my NeXTstation. I did just that earlier in the week when we had some really nasty thunderstorm. I just logged into my machine at home, su, and then 'halt -p' to power it down. I seriously doubt that there is an 'upgrade' path to what is essentially just a routine printed circuit board revision in the manufacturing process. The published specifications of the machine have not changed. It kinda makes sense that this has happened; the more components the monochrome NeXTstation has in common with NeXT's other products, the fewer different components they need to keep in stock. louie
