I assume you mean the executable (I don't know if you can run strip on .o files). The default 'make install' for IB projects will strip your file (via install -s, I think) after installing it. I've also stripped many files (Stuart's pre-stripped exec size in 2.0 is 1.5M at this time - after Stripping, 188k). I don't know what could cause the core dumps, though. Have you tried to gdb the core file?
