If anyone can tell me how to do it with the GUI, please send email. (Once I added another printer, then the print command would give me a choice, but with only one printer in NetINFO/printcap, the GUI did not give me a choice.) I tried to pick lp as the default in PrintManager, but to no avail. I think that there is a small error in the black manual "Here's how to set up your computer and get up to speed." On pages 43 & 44 where they are explaining how to force a move (copy), they tell you to use the Alternate (Command) key. For me, they work just the oposite. ie command forces a move, and alternate forces a copy. No big deal, I just want to let the new users know. the Extended 2.0. However, there is currently no way to do this over the net. I would be willing to let people get the man pages, and the cc compiler off of my machine via anon ftp, but upon reading my license, I see that I am not supposed to do that. Actually, I don't see how anyone is allowed to get any of the extended release without someone violating the license. I understand the reason for not making all of the new software available, but it would be nice if some of the packages, ie man, cc, tex, and emacs would be nice. SLIP - So, is there a version that is available? AnonFTP - Personally, I feel that anon-ftp is just that. ie anyone should be allowed to get software off of it. It isn't that hard to have an ftp account with a password, and it is not anymore difficult to use. But, in case you disagree with that, you are all welcome to get anything off of calvin.stanford.edu. (Right now, I don't have any NeXT stuff, only some Xgames.) Andrew zimmer@calvin.stanford.edu PS. The above are my views, but I will try to respect the views of others, and not go anon-ftping to non-public machines.
