This is Generic-Sybase-question in view mode; [Up]
Date: Sun 17-Oct-1990 21:11:05 From: UH2@psuvm.psu.edu (Lee Sailer) Subject: Generic Sybase question Does Sybase actually come with the present Cube, or is it still in beta? Will Sybase come with the NeXTStation, or has it been unbundled? And last, what actually does Sybase offer? As I understand it, it is an SQL server. Does this mean that if Sybase is running, that other applications can locate it, send it SQL queries, and get back results? Suppose one wished to construct a simple database system to implement a somewhat idiosyncratic time and task management system. How hard would it be to use the Interface Builder to make a front end, and then tie that to Sybase? Would one need expertise in Obj C? Any ideas on these topics welcome... lee
