MacOS creates NONSTANDARD PostScript specific to the LaserWriters. Get a copy of ~ftp/info-mac/unix/macps-22.shar from sumex-aim.stanford.edu. Note that a lot of Mac stuff assumes the presence of the 35 outline fonts standard with the LaserWriter II, and will not display or print properly on the NeXT unless/until you have more than the "bare minimum" NeXT currently supplies! If you're generating your own documents, stick to Helvetica, Times, Courier, and Symbol. (Yes, I know "everyone" uses New Century Schoolbook on the Mac...) -=EPS=-

I did it already. I can sucessfully print any Macintosh-created PS files generated by Apple-F from unix. Therefore, after using 'prepfix' and 'macps' the NONSTANDARD PostScript files should be standard PS files which can be sent to any PostScript printer. I am just curious why I fail to preview these standard PS files on NeXT. Darda

I was able to do this with the <command>-K option. <command>-F puts LaserWriter specific commands into the file so avoid this option. I transfered the file to the NeXT with ftp and previewed it in yap and then printed it on the NeXT Laserprinter.
