Date: Sun 26-Sep-1989 20:35:34 From: Unknown Subject: MIDI and other sound questions... I've got a couple of simple questions (I'm just getting going--please be kind): 1. What is the state of MIDI in 1.0? Earlier word was that it was to be available (through the SCSI port?) in this version. Is it supported? Where is it documented if it is supported? If it isn't supported yet, will it be? 2. Is there a music font included in the Adobe collection, or any other facility that would make music notation (simple notation) a relatively simple matter? 3. How about a way to input sound other than via a microphone or MIDI. In particular, would it be possible to direct the digital coding of a CD into the NeXT (assuming copyright issues were resolved) for use in a hypermedia application? Is the coding used for CDs compatible with the DSP? 4. On a related topic, is there a way to get stereo input to the cube? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eric J.
