This is TeXview-woes in view mode; [Up]

Date: Sun 27-Oct-1989 16:35:27 From: Unknown Subject: TeXview woes I was wondering it anyone else out there has noticed this problem. This is all on a NeXT running 1.0, 8meg memory, 330meg hard drive. No printer, no ethernet connection. TeXview does not support TPIC specials, while dvips does. This led to TeXview hanging up and hanging the entire machine when I tried to preview a file with some TPIC stuff in it. I had to pull the plug out the wall and then power on again. So, I learned not to use TeXview for a while with this kind of file (dvips+Preview works fine). Is there a way to activate the power key when the machine is hung, or cause a reboot. Something like "L1-a" on a sun3, or "alt-shift-del" on a pc. dvips, on the other hand, by default wants a printer. The config.ps file needs to be edited to remove the "o" line. (or comment it out). last, while I'm here, could some kind soul who has upgraded his/her NeXT to 12 or 16meg please mail me the following info: 1. What kind of memory do I need (specifically, will Sun SIMMs work in a NeXT? Will Mac SIMMs work?) 2. How much does it cost. 3. where did you buy it? Please send me a file that causes problems to Radical Eye Radio (415) 32-RADIO if possible, or this net address if not. Thanks! -tom >From: stefan@lbl-csam.arpa (Stefan gottschalk)
