Date: Sun 30-Oct-1989 08:25:50 From: Unknown Subject: How do I set up a "Configuration Server" by hand? I created a netinfo domain to serve a cluster of NeXTs; when the server starts up I get the "can't locate parent" nonsense; after a few seconds it times out and things proceed normally. Is this fixable? The setup I did in 0.9 wouldn't find the parent domain in 1.0, so I added information about the parent to the server's local master property (why? I dunno!) and it worked (other than the problem described above). For those of you who have set up Configuration Servers with up? Note that we can't use "network" as a domain name, I don't think NetManager has the flexibility to do what I want, and I really don't want to take a machine away to exhaustively reverse engineer the "I know what's good for you and you don't need to know what I'm really doing" GUI. -=EPS=- >From: epsilon@wet.UUCP (Eric P.
