Date: Sun 14-Nov-1989 04:28:02 From: Unknown Subject: Re: NeXT Mail Alias System When I use the NeXT Mail.app's alias system, the "To:" field looks like where "MyDomain" is the address of my machine rather than the person to whom I am sending mail. The mail gets sent to the correct address, even though the field is filled in incorrectly. The incorrect header can sometimes lead to an error if the recipient uses a "reply" command, in particular, the "cc" field may be incorrect. If I use the berekeley mail system in the c-shell, and use .mailrc for my aliases, the full and correct address is filled into the "To" field, so the problem must be in the NeXT interaction with sendmail rather than in sendmail itself. Is this a known bug, and if so, is there a patch or workaround? Or, is this unique to my system? Steve Frank e-mail: steve@fisher.bio.uci.edu >From: boyle@altair.mcs.anl.gov
