Date: Sun 28-Nov-1989 02:21:24 From: Unknown Subject: Can a docView belong to multiple ScrollViews? Edit does not allow you to open a single file twice or more for viewing different sections of a file at the same time. Now that I started using Edit almost exclusively, this is becoming one of the major pains of Edit. Hopefully, someone is working on Edit or Edit replacement to have this and other useful features, but I started thinking if this is something that can be done easily within the Applkit framework. It seems that in order to have two separate views into a single document, a sigle docView must be added to multiple ScrollViews at the same time. Is this possible? How about Views in general? Can a View added to multiple superViews at the same time? Considering that the instance variable 'superview' will contain only one pointer, this probably is not possible. Is anyone working on such an editor? Izumi Ohzawa izumi@violet.berkeley.edu P.S. Don't tell me to use EMACS. I refuse. >From: jpd00964@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu
